Husband is in the Navy. He's up for orders soon. Trying to figure out where we want to go next. Where have you guys been and did you love it or hate it? and if you know anything about the schools i'm interested as well.

My husband is Army, but we were just in San Diego and just full in love with it. It is sooooo nice and the weather is wonderful.

My husband is Navy. We've been to Kings Bay, GA (lived in Jacksonville, FL though); Yokosuka, Japan; and Groton, CT. I've actually liked all of them. GA/FL was great. We liked to hang out at the beach and go down to Orlando. My daughter went to Abess Park Elementary in Jax & it was a great school. Most of the schools in Jax are magnet schools. The only thing that's terrible about Jax is the traffic! Japan was really nice. Both of my girls went to DODDS schools and the curriculum follows standard US curriculum with the addition of a host nation class. Right now we're in CT and love it. The elementary and middle school have exceeded my expectations. I've found the teachers in both schools to be friendly and informative. The housing is beautiful too since it's all brand new!

We just got orders back home to houston. We have been in Pittsburgh and Alabama. We are USCG. My family is all military. My cousin is right now on the Ronald Reagan. Everyone says we should go to Cali, but as you know military doesn't pay squat. I wish you luck. Remeber your happiness comes first make sure you get somewhere you will be happy since you will be stuck with the kids while he is away.

We are also NAVY, and been stationed mostly in Jacksonville, FL...(NAS jax), but there also is NS mayport there! I guess I'm partial being born and raised in Fl,,,but I love N.E. Fl,,,,and jacksonville area! Lots to do and in the middle or 2-4 hrs away from soooooo many fun places! We are currently stationed at NAS brunswick maine, but this base is closing and we are headed back to Jax in june 09,,,,I dont recommend here,,,,it's horrible!

We are stationed in Florida right now (Eglin AFB), and we love it here. We will be moving to Kansas in May, and we'll be sad to leave. There's lots to do, and the beaches are awesome.

SAN DIEGO, lol. Not sure about the school but loved Coronado Island. My husband is Army, but we go to San Diego every year for our anniversary and I love the Navy Lodge.
