Just got to Ft Bragg.. advice please!!

We just moved to Ft Bragg NC and so far I am not really liking the area at all! We cant get on post for another 6 months :( I dont know of anything fun and SAFE lol for my daughter and I to do until I get a job and we move on post. The area seems to be either really expensive or really "ghetto" and kinda intimidating! Heeelp anyone who is in the area and can give me some pointers on where to look for an apt until we move on post! We dont want to be too far from my husbands work (the airfield) thanks in advance for any help :)

Welcome to Bragg.. :)

Hmmmmm an apartment close to the airfield thats not ghetto. I am actually stumped on that. I know there are some new apartment complexes in Spring Lake on hwy 210 that look nice and some of the soldiers in my husband unit live there. How far do you consider to far?

Safe things for children here.. There are several parks on and off post that are ok. Monkey Joes is always decent. Its in Fayetteville near the mall area. There are also lots of playgroups on post depending on the age of your child.
