Hello our family will be moving to Ft. Drum in a few weeks. My husband knows the area but unfortinately i dont. We have a baby girl of 4 months and two french mastiff dogs.
Im just lookin for any spouses in that area to meet and hopefully become friends with.

Just found out we are moving to Ft Drum around 1 April 2011. We have one 10 year old daughter . Where are good areas to live if you can not get on base housing?. what about good schools. It would be nice to get to know some people before we arrive. Gail :o)

We just moved here a couple of weeks ago. We're staying at the Fort Drum Inn until we can get housing. I talked to housing today and we should get an offer the first week of October or thereabouts. I don't know anyone here yet either. I have two girls, ages 8 and 12. I'm on facebook and would love to talk to anyone here.

Things may be better housing wise next summer - we do have one brigade scheduled to deploy sometime early next year, so that should help out. :-) A lot of the spouses do return to their home-state when the soldier is deployed, it seems.

yeah, same here, i love it here and hate it here. My husband is deploying in oct. and well, i know NO ONE here yet. lol. but from what i've seen of post the place is nice. I'm suppose to be moving on post soon, but i hope you like it here. feel free to shoot me a line. my email is Alliabear@yahoo.com. i have facebook too. but i have a 16 month old son and expecting another one on the way. so i'd be more than happy to chat to ya and keep ya company. hope all went well with your move.

Dominic, I assume you are already in the Ft Drum area, as this is a month & a half after you posted your conversation string. :-)
We've been here for about 5 months, and I am loving it!! I hope you were able to get housing either on post or off quickly! the wait here can be ATROCIOUS! We were lucky to find our home about 10 days after arriving. most things were out of our price range or already taken by the time we got here.
