Moving to Pensacola FL

I am here in Pensacola and have lived here since I was a kid. I am a mom of a 3 year old and am looking for other moms to get together for playdates and mommy nights out.

I currently live here. I am from here per say(been here since I was 15) and met my hubby here while he was going to school and we got lucky enough to be able t ocome back here where most of my family is. I don't like the base side of town, simply because of it being so far away from all the good restaurants, malls and such but its a good area if you find the right place. As the other lady was telling you there is lots of nice places off blue angel, gulf beach hwy, sorrento, dog track and much more. Currently we just sold our house clear across town and are staying with my sister off lillian and blue angel. We move for Australia in Dec. Her neighborhood is awesome, quiet and nice as well and there is always rentals. She lives in lillian woods off blue angel and lillian hwy. How old are your children? I think you will like it here, there is lots to do, just don't judge the town by the main road the base is off of, I think too many people come here and never leave the navy, corry, warrington sections and think its nasty. Like any other town of course there are bad sections but having been to norfolk myself this is a cake walk and safe comparatively lol. We're in Jacksonville NC on Camp Lejeune. I didn't know there was an A school down there, my husband was in Chicago for his A school. My youngest JUST turned one and my oldest is turning 2 this weekend. Are you going to be living on base or off? We'll be checking out of here in Nov and then we're taking leave- my goddaughter should be coming sometime in Dec- then heading down to FL.

I will be moving down there in the middle of November!!My husband is currently in Boot camp and will be doing Aschool down there for 9 months so we will be following =] We have a 9 month old little girl! Where are you located right now?

Oh, and dont get the first place you see.. or let your husband pickt he place without you.. I did that and was NOT happy with where we lived for the first year.. We ended up moving into an appartment (which i loved).. Oh, and some appartments are more expensive then houses.. There are tons of homes for rent in Pensacola, its crazy..

Hi Jen,
My family just moved from Pensacola FL. Renting a house there isnt that expensive.. We were in a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 2 car garage for $850 a month.. Look around the back gate (Blue Angel Hwy) for houses to rent. Its close to NAS and the Naval hospital and a nice area. Its far from things to do but most people live around there so its nice to be close to other military familys. My husband and I would have to drive almost a half hour to see our friends, it wasnt fun.. lol.. Im pretty sure its the back gate, there is a new Target there (with Starbucks inside), a Wal-Mart, and a few food places around that area. I personally wouldnt do the base housing.. There are so many more options off base.. Oh, and we went though Beaumer Reality to find our place, I didnt really like them.. Here is the name and number of a agent, she is SO nice.. She was my neighbor for the first year we lived in Pensacola.. Call her and Im sure she will help you with whatever you need.. Diane Harmon
