My boyfriend was just in time to be with me during my labor. He was overseas and has left once again for a longer amount of time. Is it always this hard to say goodbye to the love of your life? my son will be 6 or 8 months when his papa comes home. I have a handsome face to look at see his fathers face. all you women taking care of your child alone while ur spouse is overseas. I salute you and hope your spouse the best and hope he comes home soon to be with you.

it is never easy, but you learn how to handle it as the years go on. you learn there is a pattern of emotions you go through depending on the time range that they are gone. congrats on the new baby!

My husband has missed almost half of our 3.5 year old sons life due to deployments and training and re-classing and he has only seen our almost 4 month old for a whopping 9 days. For me it sucks to say goodbye but I guess I'm used to it I feel more sad for all the memories my husband does not get to make with his kids. I just do what I do and when he gets home its really hard for me to let him into our routine.

it is hard but the baby will always keep you company my husband made it home by 2 months then left when my daughter was 6 months old. he is gone on a 6 month deployment and i look at my daughter so much to remember her daddy. if you need anyone to talk to im on facebook feel free to add me any time. i now it can be sressful my husbands first deployment was 2 weeks after i found out i was prego and now im all alone 17 hrs away from family and friends so i know how sad it can be but it does get easier i promise

Congrats on the baby! its always hard t say goodbye. Its harder on our husbands though. Just look at all you get to experience with your baby and you know your spouse is missing it. Its sad. My husband missed all 3 of our kids' first day of school, first lost tooth, first report card, cub scout meeting, dance class, etc. But you just have to keep yourself busy and set goals--it seems to make time go by faster. No matter how many times he deploys, it will never be easy to say good bye
