hello everyone,
I'm new in Augusta. Or should I say new in America??!! I'm polish but I grew up in Germany.
I am 26yrs. old with 3kids (8yrs./7mon./20mon. and a husband) and I am lookin' for some mommy's in this area ;)
because I'm getting tired of staying home all day (hubby working all day) Does anybody know some nice playgrounds or any tips how to meet people here? thank you, alex

I just left Ft. Gordon back in October, I was there for 4 years. I'm in Germany now. My kids favorite thing to do was go to the park on post. There is a large one across the field from the PX. On Tuesdays around 10 am there is usually a playgroup out there with a lot of children. My kids were 2 1/2 when we left. Another fun activity was the YMCA over by Target and the movie theater. During the summer you can buy a membership and go to their water park. My friend had this, and she loved going with her 3 kids. Also, check out the Army Rec area out in Appling. It's about a 20 minute drive, but it is absolutely peaceful and fun. Good luck with your stay! Oh, and be sure to go to all your FRG meetings, you really do meet some very nice wives there. Another thing is see if you can get on the Marriage Retreats. Those are a lot of fun, and give you a nice break to be with your husband.

hey Alex, I live in Augusta GA,back in 2007, and I loved it!, didn't have any children back then, but I was involved in different activites. Fort Gordon is nice, I want to go back there so bad!!!
My advice would be to go on meetup.com, and then do the search for moms and kids in the area, and You will find plenty!!!!
One thing I would recomend, because I used to go there all the time, there is a beautiful room for children at the Columbia Library, and it was twice a week that they had a reading group for babies and toddlers, and it looked awesome. Here is the link of the library, so you can get the address

Hey my husband is based here at Ft Gordon as well. This seems to be a very hard place to meet people. I have a 6 month old, I have also been trying to find other moms so I can get out of the house while my husband is working.

Hey Alex! If you drive to Evans, which is out Gate 1 on Bel Air Road, there is a great park at the Library there. And there is also an awesome park down near Stevens Creek in Martinez. I don't live there anymore or I would meet you. I miss Augusta! I loved Ft. Gordon! We are at Ft. Hood and I long for those Georgia pines!
