Recently was transferred to Norfolk with my husband - - desperately seeking NEW FRIENDS! I have a set of 2.5 year old twins, one boy and one girl - - would love to have play dates! As big as Norfolk Naval is - - I am having such a hard time settling in and meeting other Navy Wives. I am recently married and new to military life. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Hi Abigail!! How are you doing? My husband is stationed at Norfolk but we live in Virginia Beach. Do you live in military housing? We don't reason why I was asking. I have a girl that is 19 months old. She loves to play with other kids. I have lived here for a little over 2 years and I still haven't made any friends....yeah I know sad!! The first 2 years I went to school while the hubby worked nights so all i did was go to school and come home. So after I graduated I had no friends to hang out with.

bus stops on base and near base housing are a goldmine for moms, many are sending kids off with younger ones who arent school-aged in tow. my husband is stationed there as well but i live an hour away and my youngest will be 5 on the 29th. best wishes, you can also find moms on here.

The first time my husband was stationed at Camp Pendleton, I found most of my friends at the church we joined. Another place to look is the libraries on base for a storytime for the kids because you'll meet parents of other children the same age. One other place you might look for friends is a MOPS group.
