I have a 4 and half year old and she is completely potty trained except at night. She wears pull-ups at night. She use to be fine and never peed in a bed. Then she started about a year ago and hasn't stopped. I don't know what to do. She is not allowed to have anything to drink or eat after 6 and goes to bed at 9. I make her go potty like 5 times before bed until she can't go potty anymore. I have put her in time out, scolded her, taken toys away, friends, movie at night. I have tried all methods and nothing seems to work. I'm so lost on what else to do. Please help me!!

the family my mom is a nanny for uses a pull up and diaper for when it comes to bedtime. then he went down to only using a pull up and now only underwear.

You may even want to have her checked out. Sometimes there could be an issue going on that she has no control over or whatever. And also like someone else mentioned....if something big happened with in the last year....a deployment, pet passing, a passing of a close family or friend. I also feel putting her in pull ups is confusing her or making her lazy(they did that to my oldest). Try keeping the undies on. I don't think I would panick though. it will all happen soon enough. Good luck

Jessica - my son was in the same spot - he had been potty trained since he was 3 but it hasn't been till he was 6 (and a few months) that he stayed dry at night. He also wore pullups for night time. I never wanted him to feel bad cause he was really trying but after doing some research, I found a few things that are beyond his control. One he may be sleeping too deeply to be able to wake up to the urge and the other is his bladder just was not developed enough to do the job. So don't panic, just continue on with love and I assure you that your daughter will one day wake up dry.

Did something happen a year ago, like a deployment? It could be emotional and she has no idea why she is having accidents. Stress can also cause bed wetting. Definatley try underwear. You can get a plastic mattress cover if that is an issue.

maybe it's because she is wearing pull ups. i remember when we were potty training our son a few years back pull ups confused him and he thought it was okay to pee in them. once we put him in his underwear and he peed in them once he realized he didn't like it and stopped. try keeping her in undies at night. i hope this helps.

Have you tried getting up in the middle of the night and guide her to the toilet? Have she had a full physical lately? ADD/ADHD kids have issues with night wetting.
