Should I go home when my husband deploys?

My husband and I pcs'd to Hunter Army Airfield in Sept, 2011. We do live on post in a 4 bedroom fourplex. I have twin daughters that are 3 and two older sons that are 14 and 16. I am also attending nursing school in Savannah. My husband is deploying to Afghanistan at the end of this year. All of my family is at Ft.Hood, Texas and I have been super home sick and thinking about staying there while he is gone for 9 months. My question is, should I? And if so, what happens to the house we live in now on post? I'm assuming we move out, pay our own expenses to Texas and start the process over again when he returns. Thank you for your help!!

If you wanted to get the help i would i did when my husband deployed for four month and then i came back it was nice to have family around rather then being all by myself. The help does matter when your by yourself.

If you moved off post you would get BAH. Then a few months before he gets back from deployment, you'd want to secure a place on or by post again before it fills up when everyone returns. Since going to Ft Hood wouldnt be a PCS move, you'd have to pay your own moving expenses back and forth. My 3 yr old daughter and I stayed close with family while my husband deployed but she's not in school yet, so easy to have her travel with me. Once she is school age, I know I wont be able to go back and forth so much and I'll probably move on post and just stay to give her stability, keep her in her school with her friends. Nothing wrong with a nice long summer vacation to Ft Hood tho. Going for longer than that would proabably be hard given your academic career as well.
