I am a Military wife that spent a long time being abused and raped. My finally got my children and I out of the situation. I have fallen on hard times and would like to know where I can turn to get help with bills and clothes.

Mam- What state do you live in? There is a program called displaced house wives http://www.fas.org/ota/reports/8508.pdf but each state typically has their own program you can do a google search for your state or call you rlocal workforce to see if they know about the program

I am currently in a similar situation. I called Army1Source, reported the abuse. I also called the Inspector General (IG) for his unit and his chain of command for the financial family support. when I initially contacted his 1SG(first Sergeant) she didn't believe me and gave me a hard time. Thats when I wrote a letter to his Battalion Commander and called IG. The military Family Advocacy had also given me helpful resources. I also called the local domestic violence hotline, they can give you guidance. I know you are probably dealing with a lot of different emotions and its hard but hang in there, you cando it! You have to be your on advocate.

You need to go to the civilian court system. That is what his command can enforce. I am sorry you have gone through this. I am not sure if you are still married or under his insurance but your children should be and are entitled to counseling. They need it and so do you. Praying for you.

if you are divorced or seperated then he should be paying you child support. If not call his command. You can also apply for food stamps and possibly wic if your kids are under 5 yo. you can go to the salvation army or other local places to get clothing.
