They say I have to be enrolled in the EFMP Program, will this effect our Command Sponsorship?

So I NEED to know... we are getting ready to head to Korea with the hubby (if we get CS), so we did the 5888 Form for the EFMP. Luckily we submitted the form too early, because now we find out that since years back (while hubby was on deployment) I had a small panic attack and migraines. The Dr. told me it was "normal" to be depressed during that time and gave me depression meds. I never took the meds, because I knew it wasn't depression, but it's in my medical file, and apparently has caught up with me. I feel it's unfair. But my question is, how will this whole thing effect our getting to Korea with my hubby? Oh wow...

Just an update: The doctor lost my EFMP application, so after spending most of the morning searching for something that just wasn't there, I find out the only thing they can do for me is make another appointment to be seen by the doc again, to have him fill out the paperwork again. So I go Mon, and prayfully it will get done. I was told that there will be a delay to get forms signed by EFMP rep.. but as soon as we get it, we can start the process for Command Sponsorship. Funny thing, I wasn't even upset. I guess Im learning :)

Thank you so much Dovia! Yea, yesterday was a day full of frustration. The doctor understood my situation very well, stating he sees other docs. doing that all the time, and its a shame. He still has to enroll me, but state it was a "temporary situation", which still offends me. I just have to pray he completes the paperwork correctly. He seemed unsure :( wish me luck. We're still 3 weeks from actually submitting the paperwork.

oh wow....hey nyke i was just look for updates on your process and I saw this. I dont know much about efmp but I am just here giving you some encouragement as you go thjrough this process and i hope things work out.....Have a good day amd press on ....looking forward to seeing you in korea......

Thank you Nicole. I go back to doc. tomorrow, I am nervous.. hoping he understands the situation in full. He is my primary doc., but I don't think I've seen him more than 3 times in almost 3 years, so he doesn't really know me. So I hope he doesn't just read what's in my record and go off that. I need all the luck I can get!

I have just started to become familiar with the EFMP program, as my son has just been enrolled within the last few weeks. We have been given ERD because the services my son needs, are not provided here in Sicily. Whether or not you are able to go with your husband will depend on whether or not the medical care you "need" is offered there. It doesn't necessarily mean you won't be able to go. I hope you do get to go and everything works out for you. Good luck!!!
