Becky-

we are on the PCU New Mexico. How far is Chesapeake from Newport News? we moved here the beginning of Jan. and I am still getting adjusted. It's been really hard, not knowing anyone. And I am going stir crazy with my son. He is teething and has been very fussy. If you're not too far away, maybe we could meet up sometime.  I will be going home to visit Feb17-21. But maybe we could get together before I leave or I can let you know when I'm back.  Either way, let me know. Hope to hear from you soon!

Quoting Amanda:

Hi! We just moved to Newport News about a week ago. My husband is in the Navy and is working at the shipyard. I have an almost 4 month old son. I'm looking for people in the area to help me find my way around and make me feel more at home.

Are you guys on the Tennessee?  We got here about two months ago, but are living in Chesapeake

I live in Norfolk, but my son and I are not currently in the area.  We went home to Kansas for a couple of months for the deployment.  We will be back at the end of March and are always looking for new people to hang out with.  I have found the military YMCA to be a great thing.  The website is www.asymcahr.org.  They always have activities to keep you busy.  We are stationed aboard USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71).

Hello Everyone!

I appologize for taking SO long to respond. My husband deployed in January so I have been MIA on here. Please e-mail me here: kelela01@gmail.com its my personal e-mail that I check often.

Toni--my daughter is 4 yrs. and attends pre-k for half the day.

Teresa--I too am pregnant with our third and last child.

Amanda--we live right down the street from eachother. I live off of Deep Creek so we are VERY close!

For all of you on here, I joined a mommy group from this website and you can get in if you'd like. www.meetup.com then put in The Hampton/Newport News Playgroup and join this great group of ladies. You won't be able to access it because of our privacy issues with having our kids pictures/personal info. on the site but if you e-mail the Group Leader, Terri Taylor she can get you in.

I would like to get together with all of you sometime soon. The next couple weeks are very busy for me but it will end in March, so please e-mail me so we can get together! I hope you all have a great Valentine's Day with your little one's!!

I'm having a play-date get-together next Friday if anyone is interested in meeting! This way there is a large group of people ... you don't have to feel obligated to stay or talk to just one person. If you would like to come just let me know! Email: fairyback11@yahoo.com

Hi Cheryl, I am new to Circle of Moms.  I live at Langley Air Force Base in Bethel Manor.  We have been here for over a year now and I love it here.  Shoot me a note if you would like to get together.  I am a stay-at-home mom, and pregnant with baby #3.  My oldest is 5 and in school but my youngest is three.

Hope to here from you!!!

Cheryl- we live off of Harpersville near the old Value City but I work in Oyster Point part time. How old is your little girl? Mine is 7 but she can hang with younger kids too. Of course, if we met during school, she wouldn't be there. We could grab some coffee and Barnes and Nobles and let the kids play with books, etc.?

That's pretty wild that we moved here at about the same time and our sons are only a month apart. I would love to meet up sometime.... once we get settled. We still have boxes to unpack and things to organize. Maybe toward the end of Jan or beginning of Feb. Let me know. Talk to you soon!

I'm a Native to Hampton and we are currently stationed back here. I know tons about the area since I've lived here most of my life. My husband is in the Navy but we live in Newport News. We don't like living in Norfolk or VA Beach and the drive from Chesapeake is about the same as it is from Newport News/Hampton... not to mention the lower cost of housing... so we're here and loving it. He just took part in the commissioning of the George Bush (CVN 77) and was stationed on it for 2 years but we just moved to a new command on the Carl Vinson which is in the ship yard. Upon completion, it moves to San Diego and I'm pretty sad about that! I don't want to leave my family. I'm very active in my church (http://www.watersedgechurch.net) and had a set group of friends already when we got stationed here so I don't know a lot of good places to get plugged in.
