My husband is deploying for 4 months in a few weeks and I have an 8 month old. I have been through a deployment before, but this will be my first time with a child. I am a stay at home mom and I do full time online school. While I do most of the work during the week, I still have my husband to give me a hand at night and on the weekends. Now I will be in charge of the house, 2 dogs, full time school, and an 8 month old all on my own. With it being so close now I feel like I'm in a panic. I don't know how I'm going to do it with the added emotional stuff of feeling lonely all the time. I guess I'm just looking for some advice on how to stay positive/sane.

My husband deployed when our oldest was 9 months and we had two dogs and two cats as well, at the time. The hourly care, on our post, allowed so many hours free a month, with a deployed soldier, and its worth checking out. My daughter refused to be unglued to me, so after my 3rd attempt at leaving her for an hour, I stopped going anymore. I had friends that my daughter was comfortable enough with that once in a while I could catcha break, even if it just meant a grocery store run by myself...it makes a world of difference! My mil is also a two hour drive away and was very helpful to me sometimes. My point is to just find a way to get a little bit of time to yourself once in a while and remember that even if all it takes is 5 minutes of shutting yourself in your room and taking deep breaths is very important! ;)

PLAYDATESSSs help a lot...makes the days go by faster and wears your kiddo out for a better nights sleep! Take naps if you need too and set aside chores to be done later if you need the break! DO NOT stress yourself out..chores can be put off some, fi your the anal type like I was, and you learn to breath and just say "I can always do the dishes in the morning and get a decents night rest tonight" kind of deal.

My husband is currently deployed again and we now have a 3 y/o and our youngest just turned one last month... I thought I was going crazy last deployment?? PHEW... I forget my name half the time now! lol Call friends, set up girl time...go do mani and pedis, find places that are fun for your kid but where you can sit down and have adult conversations and still keep a safe eye and distance from your kid playing, without having to run around like a crazy person after them!

GL!!

Four months will fly.. not saying it will be easy but sounds like you will be busy and distracted... the best advice I can give is breathe and enjoy your hubby now while you have him and try to not stress about him leaving! It will be different but give your self some credit YOU CAN DO THIS.. God bless and your in my prayers
