Marines aren't the same, My husband wasn't able to fly home.  Also one of his buddies had his first baby while he was in Iraq too and wasn't able to come home for that.  Though you should look into maybe doing a webcam delivery or soemthing like that.  My husband was allowed to be on webcam and see his son minutes after he was born (you keep the webcam focused on your head. I think there are quite a few naval hospitals that do that now a days.  Try looking into that.  Good luck.

ive been told that they do fly husbands home when you are due, and if you know that you are having a scheduled c section you can give the welfare a chance to get there acts together and fly him back to you. but thats the army, not sure on the marines? although should be the same. i had my boy in germany in an emergency c section, and my husband wasnt allowed to come in with me, but i had one english speaking midwife, who was brilliant, she was there with me the whole time through it, im sure you have friends and family who will be able to help you out if you need help when you get home. we are women , we can cope with anything life throws at us!

thanks everybody, yall are really helping me! yes i did have a c-section with my first, bc i have herniated discs in my back! Going into labor could rupture them and paralyze me!

How tough!! My daughter was born just one month before my husband left (and that was 2 more weeks than we had anticipated). I can't imagine what I would have done without him. But fortunately it isn't your first so you know what to expect. Did you have a c section last time? If not, can I ask why you are having one this time? Just be sure that you have loved ones with you for love and support. Just know that he would be there if he could, and I'm sure that his heart will always be with you. Be sure to keep him as involved and informed as possible. Good luck! And congratulations!!! :)

Hopefully they will try to get him home, especially since your having a c-section and its a set date. Usually they are good about getting them back here. Other than that just know that sometimes we get the shitty end of the stick when it comes to military lives. I hope he makes it home so he can be there with you. My husband missed the birth of our son in Sept. I was so upset that he wasn't there for me and my first child but i put faith in my doctors and had a good nurse. SO hopefully you will have at least someone there that you can trust and be comfortable with. But then again you are having a c-section and those can be very scary...best of luck and ill pray for you

Hey my husband was in Iraq when our second child was born this past Jan, and it was hard but it will be ok...trust me you will get through it and holding your little one will make it all worth it.  Also my hubby comes home this week, THANK GOODNESS!!!  I can't wait to see him hold his son for the first time...its going to be amazing.  Good luck, if you need to chat let me know
