Is it true that Pillsburys frosting is milk and egg free?

This is a vegan cake, its rich but SO delicious.

Preheat over to 190c, Grease and flour cake tin.



1 1/2 cups flour

2 Tablespoons Cocoa

1 Teaspoon Cinnamin

1 Teaspoon Ground Ginger

1 Teaspoon Baking soda

1 Teaspoon salt

1/2 cup cooking oil ( i use Rice bran oil )

3/4 Cup Water

2 Tablespoons of Malt Vinegar

1 Teaspoon Vanilla Essence

1 Cup Sugar



Sift Dry ingredients together and add sugar, mix well and make a well in centre.

Pour in oil.

Mix together water, vinegar and vanilla essence and combine all ingredients.

Bake for 30-40min.

Leave cake in tin for 4-5min to cool before turning out on cooling rack.

I have an easy icing recipe that turns out great every time.

2 pounds powdered sugar

1 cup crisco veg shortning

1/2 cup of liquid, use any flavor, I do vanilla most of the time, 1 tablespoon, put it into your measuring cup, then add water to get your 1/2 cup. If you want it thinner, you can add about a teaspoon of water at a time to get your desired texture.

I dont have any scracth recipes but I use Cherrybrook Kitchen cake mix and frosting. Or for a homemade frosting I use Shortening, powdered sugar, vanilla and water. Dont know the mesurements off hand but if you want it let me know.

I have an icing recipe for cookies, but not cakes. Of course, it is hard to have very many cookies with these allergies. :)

I have a great choc. cake recipe. I can honestly say that we will probably use this recipe even if my son does outgrow his egg allergy.

Easy Eggless Chocolate Layer Cake

3 cups flour
1/2 cup cocoa powder (hershey's is milk free)
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 cups water
2/3 cup veg. oil
2 tablespoons of white vinegar
2 tsp vanilla

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease and flour 2 9"x2" pans. (I have used it in all different sz's and shaped pans)
In a large bowl, stir together flour, sugar, baking soda and salt. Add cocoa, water, oil, vinegar and vanilla. Beat until thoroughly blended.
Pour batter into pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes clean. Cool in pans on wire racks x 10 minutes. Turn out onto wire racks to cool completely. Assemble and frost as desired.

mine have always come out moist and heavy too, but they taste just right. my 2 year old loves them.
