My son was born at 36 weeks 2 days (5 days before full term began) and the vaginal delivery was so fast nothing squished from his lungs and he suffered RDS and TTN, staying in NICU for 4 days. He came home and 2 weeks later suffered an acute life threatening event and I had to perform CPR on him, he then stayed in ICU in NICU for 7 days. They found out he has a pulomonary sequestration in his right lung and we are now going for a ct scan soon (3 months since out of NICU) and speaking with a surgeon. Hoping he has surgery fast, he suffers from viral infections often, mild ones almost weekly that lat 1 - 2 days, or bronchiolitis so far twice that last about 7 - 12 days.

I'm fairly new to the Minnesota Moms group. I was on at home bed rest for 6 weeks prior to giving birth. Our son was in the Special Care Nursery at Mayo Methodist for about a month. He was premature by 6 weeks. He turned 2 recently.

Hi Danielle, my 9 mo old triplets were in the NICU for 28 days. They were all diagnosed with NEC and needed IV nutrition. One of my sons also needed to have surgery to remove a cataract and he had to stay overnight in the PICU. We currently live in NE so this was at Creighton. We will be moving to MN next month.
My daughter is 10 months old. She was born with a sequestration (cyst) on her left lung. She was born in Hutchinson and airlifted to Children's in Minneapolis. She was in the NICU for 3 days before being transferred to Abbott Northwestern's Special Care Nursery.
