It's honestly nothing to worry about the "flutters" are typically called phantom flutters or phantom kicks, commonly found in almost ALL who have had babies & or been pregnant to the point of fetal movement strange bug very common I have them often, my daughter will be 3 in June & I have them to the point of panic attacks, if you feel you could be pregnant you should visit your doctor asap to be checked out.

Second go around with Mirena and experiencing the flutters this time as well. EWWWW It is weird. I guess it is a side effect. Did sono and no cyst or fibroids and definitely not pregnant. Mirena is cool but this feeling is WEIRD!

To tell you the honest to goodness truth, I had the Mirena, went to my annual pap and the dr didn't feel my strings. I didn't think anything of it. I felt a little flutter and didn't thing it was anything since I didn't gain weight or have any symptoms and in December I had a surprise baby boy. You should certainly get checked. My mirena had come out and I had no idea.

I have had mine for 6 months now and I had flutters thought I was preggers turns out others have this issue to. However you can get preg. on the mirena about a month after I got mine ran into this girl @ the dr office and she had an 8 month old baby and was pregnant again with the mirena still in during pregnancy she said her dr told her it was to far up already due to pregnancy to remove it

I have had my mirena for almost two years and I have just recently started feeling the "fluttering" and gained weight in my abdomen. I have always weighed 98lbs even after having my daughter but now I can't even fit in to my pants that I have always worn. Im tired and dizzy all the time. Im callling tomorrow to have it removed! I am tired of the symptoms.

I had flutters as well along with severe pain while being intimate, but only in one position - which is EXACTLY what I felt when I was pregnant), so I went in to see the doc. She said I most likely have a cyst in my uterus. It's nothing to worry about and it will go away on it's own, but apparently it's a fairly common side effect of the IUC.

I am in no way saying that is what is happening, but it's something to ask your doc about :)

I know its been a few months for this post, and you probably already have your answer but I have had my mirena for over 2 years and experience fluttering probably a couple of times a month or so, never really put the 2 together but I guess thats where it is from.

I am having the same problems. But I am 100 percent sure I am not pregnant so i guess it is just a side affect. I have an appointment with my ob/gyn next week. So will hopefully get some answers then good luck!

I guess thats what I'm worried about to...how do you know? I've only had mine in about 2 1/2 months and I doubt I am now but I was always curious for the future. My doc made it seem like it would never happen...but obviously it has.....

I would talk to you doctor about it. I've also had my mirena for about 3 months, but have had no fluttering. I have heard where people have gotten pregnant with these things--I guess they can come out or be disfunctional. My doctor said that she's never seen a case before where that has happened.
