i am 13 weeks pregnant with my 2nd and i don't think i'm one of the lucky ones who stops getting sick after the 1st trimester.. i've lost 20 lbs since getting pregnant, but my doctor thinks its fine since i weighed just over 200 lbs starting.. i get up some mucus streaked with blood, but mostly my throat just hurts after i throw up.. and i've become more sensitive to dairy since getting pregnant, i've had to cut out most cheeses, milk, and eggs from my diet to keep from vomiting, but i still do it.. my diet is really basic, mostly bread or rice and protein and some sort of veggie, but i tend to puke with raw veggies.. i have no appetite as well, but i try and make myself eat even after i puke since i don't want to hurt the baby's growth.. he/she is growing fine, btw.. if anyone can make suggestions regarding my sensitive throat, i would really appreciate it..

I had the same problem. Threw up so hard that my throat started burning. I had a cold can of coke which helped me burp. Worked and I felt so much better after an hour.

Hay Hun I lost weight with both my pregnancies till my 8th month I ended up gaining 3 lbs with my first he was 9.6 lbs and I gained 7 with my second and he was 10lbs. Have you tried to eat saltines like 4 or so before you even lift your head off the pillow it helped me with my second. Try garggle warm salt water to help your throat. The puking will stop sooner or later and you will get your appetite back good luck

I was the same thing with a lot of the things that make you sick and I lost about 20 lbs my first trimester too. I always enjoyed a decaf frap from starbucks, an ice-cold coke (for some reason out of a can was the best), the little white life-saver's mints in the wintergreen flavor (green bag, they always have them in the candy isle at walmart). also the strawberry Ricola brand cough drops...they're not too strong but still soothing.

As far as the not being hungry, find things that are filling so you don't have to force yourself to eat a ton of something (I loved potatoes).

Good luck!

If you can ask your doctor about zofran. It's a medication that helped me tremendously.

If you see this, leave this form field blank.

@ixchel.. i try and remember saltines, but i always prefer not to eat anything at all.. although, my nausea and puking have slowed although i've noticed certain smells trigger both and my appetite.. its funny.. you are so lucky to not have gained so much.. i gained 50 with my first, lost 30, but gained back 20 due to stress.. i'm trying to get out more, walk more, do more, not be so trapped by my nausea and sleepiness.. i've noticed that if i take walks my nausea is lessened and i have a bit more of an appetite.. things are getting better for me so far.. thanks..

thank you for the response... i can't really drink bubbly drinks since i started getting heartburn, i feel like it just makes it worse, but i've since found peppermint oil, or tea, or lozenges like altoids help tremendously.. if those stop working for me you can be sure i'll be trying any one of those things you posted.. i'm so desperate to be somewhat comfortable with this pregnancy..
