Hi all. My name is Misha. Wondering if anyone has suggestions for some new music or a specific CD they are really into these days? I have been getting into My Morning Jacket--really good live although they could stand to be a little funkier. :-)

You can not go wrong with moe. Their jams range from heavy rock to a funky country twang.

Yonder Mountain String Band is a great bluegrass band.

I do like Old Crow, seen them tons here in Louisville. How can you ever go wrong with bluegrass? It just makes me happy. Makes my kids jump around too!
Just heard a band called the Diplomats of Solid Sound. Very funky. All instrumental. Old school w/ horns etc. Pretty cool.
Hope you all had a great New Years. Here's to more great music in 2009!!

Have you listened to the North Mississippi Allstars. Freeworld is from the same area and lots of fun too.

Mofro has a real swampy funk to it. Also, the new Old Crow Medicine Show is incredible. It's been a bluegrass kind of time lately!

I don't know if you play music at night for your kids - but I LOVE the Rockabye Baby series! We have everything from Zeppelin, the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Nirvana and Tool. There is also a Bob Marley and lots of others. One of them has played nonstop in my twins room since they were born - and they're three now!

No one will ever replace Strangefolk for me... but Ryan Montbleau is a very close second... learning to like The Brew. Go to www.archives.org and take a listen to any of their shows.
