I have two boys 13 and 15. One computer. Need ideas about scheduling 1 hour each on computer for homework, 1 hour TV, chores, homework. I cancelled their cell phones so I don't have to deal with late night texting. I know I can work it out on my own, but looking for great ideas that have worked for others. Of course they are "free" on the weekends, until 5:00pm Sunday night. Thanks!!!

Thanks Katie and JuLeah, I know, it sounds so easy doesn't it?! I think my two have become masters at manipulation and even the simplest things turn into big ordeals. One of my big downfalls as a parent is coming home form being around kids all day and just not wanting to deal with any squabbles from my own two! I value your input because I see how I need to stand firm on setting a time limit for each. I really have to stay on top of them because of their grades! Thanks so much!

My boys are younger but I have worked it out so that one gets his computer time while the other gets his TV time. There is a play time for both after( or they watch TV together and have play time or do their individual chores while the other gets in his comp. time.) They switch up TV/Comp after dinner. The TV and computer go off at a certain time to allow them time to clean up their mess or rooms or whatever chores they have and they still have time to get ready for bed. I have a schedule on the wall so they know who gets what on which day.

Can't one have the hour after school while the other watches TV or does his chores, then they switch?

Maybe they can sign up ahead of time for which hour after school they want based on what they have planned?
