I am not sure what state you live in but yes it is worth it! The kids need all the support owed to them. You did not create them by yourself, why support them by yourself. if you were married, take your divorce papers to your local child support enforcement office and whatever information you have on him (including a picture) and file. The division of Child support enforcement (DCSE) at least here in VA is very helpful.

I went through this with my ex. He and I have 3 kids together. You need to go to the child support office in your area, unless you are going to be going through a divorce, then divorce court will take over from there. Once I went to the child support office, it took them 8 months to even get a court date set. But, now he is having to pay $440 a month. So, it has pros and cons. But, I would definitely do it because the kids deserve it and you didn't make the kids alone.

You can call the child support agency in the county you live in to start. They will set you up with a case worker and be able to answer any questions you may have.

Check out your local job and family services agency. They can help you in the child support process and you may also be eligible for some help with the schooling (like grants). It never hurts to check into it. I wish you luck

i have my son's father on child support and its worth every penny. go to your local domestic relations section of the courthouse and fill out the papers.

It is def worth it, nobody should be able to decide they just don't "feel like" supporting their children! It's a slow process and as I have learned not a reliable means of support but it's better than nothing!

I am currently in the process of getting child support from my babys dad and yes it is totally worth it. The father is just as much resposible for the children as you are. I went to the nearest district attornies office to get the child support papers and filled them out. You could also contact department of human services and im sure they can get you to the right place.
