I am unsure what I should do for my son's 6th birthday. It is in December and I had a big party planned last year but had to postpone because of snow. What do you do to make the day specail. at home party with family or at a fun place with lots of kids?

I have done both. When at home I had my son invite some of his friends over for a movie party and we had popcorn, pizza, drinks and of course the birthday cake. I still prepared party bags as if we would having the party out. I allowed my son to choose his decorations and set up for the party. We had a great time and it was less money than if we has it out somewhere.

My son wants to do it all. I guess my main issue is that we have so many kids in our family (11 kids total/ 5 being close to my son's age). The adults don't want to come to the kids party...so I think I might to both....just a lot of time and energy and money!

I did an at home party for my son's birthday last year, but for his next we're doing a shindig at Chucky Cheese. I worked myself to the bone to get the party done at home. Cooking, cleaning and coordinating. We went to his cousin's party at Chucky Cheese shortly after his party, and the kids had a blast!! They didn't even want to leave. Either way they'll have a good time, but the party at the game place was something the kids talked about for weeks, it cost about the same as what I spent in decorations, food, party favors, etc and the best was after and the moms didn't have to clean up! Have fun!! ;-)
