I got a free divorce that took a few months. I did mine through The Volunteer Lawyers Project....depending on what your income is, you might qualify for free or assistance

I did the divorce myself. I filed the papers myself. But it is true the only way its cheap and quick is if it is uncontested. Good luck

the only "quick cheap divorce" is an uncontested divorce. If he fights it, it will never be quick and cheap. so i suggest you either be prepared to leave with nothing, or get him to agree to terms so you have an agreement that just needs to be filed with the courts. Mine cost $900 with a lawyer (although that was 10 years ago), but uncontested cases can be done without a lawyer if you're willing to file all the papers yourself. a fighting divorce can run you into thousands or 10s of thousands. maybe try mediation before you attempt court if you have trouble agreeing. even mediation is much cheaper than court. good luck.
