Yes i dont see why not! Children should be able to sleep through a bit of noise nothing wrong with that, as long as its not harmful i dont see why not...

I vaccuum all the time when my kids are in bed, and I always have since they were born and they have always slept through it all.

Sounds inappropriate to me to be honest. Loud noisy vaccuming while people are sleeping?

I do sometimes. Either during nap time or at night. Depending on the day.
I actually prefer to vacuum while at least one of the kids is asleep BECAUSE they don't like it. When they're awake, someone always unplugs the vacuum, they run around screaming like headless chickens, it's just chaos XD
When I do it while they're asleep, there's no issue. And they sleep right through it.
I think that's the kicker. if your kids will sleep through it, why not. If they won't though, then that's just kind of a moronic move to do something you specifically know will wake them up after they're asleep. Kinda a common courtesy thing.

If your kids are used to a noisey house hold then it should not wake them up. Saying that I dont. I would not like it if somebody was vacuuming when I was trying to sleep. My kids can sleep through anything, thunder and lightning and noisey traffic nothing wakes them!

How old are your children? I do it with mine (3, 6 and a little one in my belly) but only because they grew accustomed to it from infancy. I read in many magazines and online parenting forums to never put them to bed in dead quiet so they are not startled out of their sleep by sudden noise later or unable to sleep through additional sound throughout the night. I guess only if your kids have exhibited any fears towards the vacuum itself would I have any reservations about it.
