My 12 month old loses it when I try to take a shower. Any suggestions?

This has been going on for about 4 months. Every time I take a shower she cries and screams like she is in pain. She even starts gagging like she is making herself sick. I have tried baby proofing the cabinet and toilet so she can be in there with me and giving her toys and books to keep her occupied in there but she loses interest at soon as the water is on. I thought that just making her tough it out would make her adjust eventually but i'm losing hope. Any suggestions would be helpful.

my son is like that. kinda. i give him a bath put him in his p.j's and then get on with my shower. toilets locked outlets covered cabinets locked but he was still weirded out by shower. so i set out on the floor toys he uses in the bath. well he decided he was gonna walk each toy 1 by 1 to the shower and toss them in. he then proceeded to try to climb in with me. im not a big fan in that prospect. i showered with my mom but whatever it feels like i need him to know mommies shower alone. he has no problem taking a bath solo(im next to the tub the entire time). but what i did was slide the shower curtain to where its closed enough to keep the water in but open to where he can see me and "talk" to me.

i think tryin her in there with you is a good idea or grabbing a shower at night time when she is asleep. some times its the only way you can get things done is when the kids are asleep

i put my little boy in his pram from an early age when i had a shower, or i took him in there with me. If she likes her pram, maybe try that one. Goodluck! :)

All my boys did the same. I just took them in with me, they sat playing in the water on the floor and I got on with my shower. After a while they chose to shower or bath on their own, because you're cramping their style and they move on and leave you to it. Enjoy.!!!

Try taking her in the shower with you. Or only get a shower while she is sleeping.
