Summer activities for little ones??

Hey Dana, we also go to Ark during the summers! We're in Memphis. I think I'm going to help with the VBS at church this year. I can put Avery in the nursery if I'm working it. :-) We're going to Athens, Georgia for a wedding June 19th. Avery's bday is June 12. We're hoping to meet up with some family. My sister is gettin married May 15, so that will take some time... We don't have any HUGE plans, cuz we're broke, but we're gonna try to make the best of it. No amusement parks for us, Avery is too small and I have seizures and a heart prob. Which sucks, cuz I like some rides!

Well this is not typical of our summer plans. We usually have a weekend or 2 in Branson or maybe go to Eureka Springs, AR (both a couple of hours away). Some summers we spend a week or so in Colorado. I am looking forward to summers when our kids are a little older and we can take them on some really neat trips that they will actually e able to remember going on! :)

I'm jealous lol! You both have amazing summers planned! Dana I can understand your apprehension. Good luck on the trip I'm sure the girls will be amazed by the beauty of it all!
Nothing near as exciting on my to do list...just plan to hit the local amusement parks.

My girls will be almost 3 and 18 months when we go. This baby on the way is coming a couple years ahead of schedule... :) I will be 33 weeks pregnant. I have already had 3 problem free pregnancies, and there's no reason to expect differently this time but you never know. I told my Grandpa just to make sure not to buy non-refundable tickets for my husband and I!
Dana, the Hawaii trip sounds wonderful!
I want to take Jake soon; you can take a glass bottom helicopter ride over the volcanoes. We took a ride over the Grand Canyon and it was the most awesome thing!! Especially if you have boys--what boy doesn't like a helicopter ride? Not sure about the ages of your little ones, or going while pregnant, but it's definitely worth looking into!
We will be spending A LOT of time at home in our back yard and in the pool. (I'm looking forward to things slowing down so we actually have time to do that!!)
As for getting out of the house, 3 of the theaters near us have free kid movies on weekday mornings; we go to a movie about once a week.
There is also a story time at some location every weekday, so we go to those a lot--Barnes&Noble is my fave b/c they do a craft after the story.
I signed him up for vacation Bible school at our church and his best friend's church. We've never done VBS before so we're both a little nervous and a little excited.
He will continue Tae Kwon Do all summer, and will start swim lessons after Baseball ends.
I organize a mommy group, so we will have lots of park days with his little friends (and mine!)
We have a Water park about 30 minutes from our house that we've never been to, so I want to try it out this summer.
We will spend about 4 weeks in Michigan at Lake Huron--one of my favorite places to visit!! That is the only extended vacation we will have this summer, but we'll spend a few weekends at the beach--we are not far from Charleston or Savannah.
I'm always looking for new inexpensive ideas to keep us busy--otherwise we end up at the mall spending tons on Build-A-Bears.

Last year for my daughters birthday our family all went together and got her a swingset/playhouse. My mom also went a little nuts and got her one of those bouncy houses from Wal Mart and a battery powered tractor, so we kind of have our own little amusement park right here and will spend most of the summer at home. :) She also loves Dora and an amusement park that is a couple of hours away has a childrens festival during the summer and Dora and Diego are going to be there one weekend so we are planning on taking the girls there a couple of times and hoping to go to the zoo. Our huge thing is that it's my grandparents 50th anniversary and they're planning on taking all of us to Hawaii! I'm actually pretty nervous about it since I'll be taking 2 small children and be 8 1/2 months pregnant. Not to mention the 8 hour plane ride and 5 hour time difference to try to get the girls used to. I'm torn between being super excited and scared to death that it's a disaster waiting to happen! :)
