Any other husbands in ND?

My husband works for Heatwaves. He started last November. We live in Eastern North Dakota. Housing is very tight and very expensive in the Williston area. They are building as fast as they can, but an average home price there is around $300,000. Very high for that area. One of my husband's co-workers bought a house with land just south of Dickinson (they work in the Killdeer area), so it's not too far for him to go home. Another co-worker is renting a place in Jamestown, ND. When he started out there, my husband was working 3 weeks on, 1 week off. During the summer he was working during the week and home most weekends. That's likely to change again as the cold weather sets in. As far as rentals, they are very expensive anywhere near Williston. The workers snap up even single rooms for up to $1,000 a month. You might want to consider looking further south - between Dickinson, Bismarck & Jamestown. He'll still have to drive to get home, but it's not nearly as far. I hope this helps!

My Husbad works for Sanjel. We live in Idaho and he drives home every 15 days to visit for 6 days then back again. Hes been in Williston sence October.

Hi I am new to this community. My name is Amanda and I have 2 little girls. One is 6 and one will be celebrating her 3rd birthday this weekend. My husband works in ND and has been there since Feb. We are going for the first time since he started there to see him in ND. My two daughters and I are going from Western MT and going to stay for the weekend. We usually meet him somewhere in the middle of where he is and we are. It is very rough for us not to see him very much. He works a Mon-Fri job so we try for every other weekend but it doesn't always work.

My hubby works for Slumberger since June. Anyone know where we can find a decent home to rent for a family of 7 that is affordable and not too far from Williston. We can't move till fall because our baby# 5 is due in Sept.

Hey TaBetha - my husband was offered a job in ND with Missouri Basin. Have you had a chance to visit with your husband yet? We are still deciding if we want to even try to move out there. Any thoughts?

My husband will be going up there o the 16th. We will be moving hopefully in August before the schools start. He will be employed by Missouri basin well services.
