My husband works onshore: 3 weeks on, one week off. Schedule changes can leave him on the rig for over a month and he goes to a new rig every time. I go to visit him once a week and we've spent a ton of money on hotel costs this year.
We'd like to start our family, so we're thinking about getting a nice fifth wheel RV so that our family can move with him and he could come "home" every night. And until I can get pregnant, a RV would be nicer alternative to staying in a hotel. It's often hard to find a hotel with availability near an oilfield, so he usually has to drive fairly far to meet me. But, I've noticed that there's always a RV park less than half an hour away from his rigs.
Does anyone else live in a RV and follow their husband? What do you think of it?
