Hi, I'm new to the oil field wife life :) We did Army for 10 years, so we know separations. Doesn't mean we like it, but we do it. My husband is starting a 2 week work/home schedule in CA. We live in OR, and we're planning to stay here since we're settled into our lives with friends and family. Would there be any benefit to moving to CA? Would I see him more? Would he be home at all during his 2 weeks of scheduled work? Or, would it just be saving us some $ on flights back home?

that was a hard part on our decision also we had all our family in new mexico but the when the oilfield plummeted we went to louisiana and ask ourselves everyday why we did it but you have to go where the money is and to sleep with him everynight makes up for him not being there during the day
