my husband works for a local trucking company that devlivers bar to drilling rigs...9 on and 3 off ...... we live in williston, with this job he is home everynight...at least he doesn't do more then 16 hour days anymore...and we live in town since we moved before the total boom in this town. I bless the oilfield work which allows me to be a stay home mom and grandmom, I was single parent raising the oldest children of mine...that may be why it doesn't bother me about being gone even when in other posistions I wouldn't see him in days... now with the "do over chance" kids, I get to be home

My Husband works offshore as a Drilling Engineer in New Zealand for Shell. We were in Dubai for a year before that and maybe will have to move again soon as this project is due for completion in Aug so off we go again unless he can get a rotational position, certianly miss having him home everynight which was the advantage of living in Dubai. Currently he's on a 3 weeks on and off rotation, it certainly is hard when they're away but we get to talk everyday but no skype which is a bumma. Luckily I have my family here and lots of friends including my Coffee Group.

My husband works for Geo Drilling Fluids in California. He follows the rigs. So far he has stayed in California where we live, but I guess they could send him anywhere they have rigs. So in one sense we have been lucky. In another though we never really know from one week to another where in California he is going to be or for how long this hitch.

My hubby works for Nabors out of Williston,ND..we live in CO now..he also was laid off in December 08 (Nabors-OK) and just went back to work for them in ND in Feb of 2010.. he drives 954miles one way to work is on a 2 and 2 rig!! Hope everyones man is back to work!!!

My husband of 1 /12 years works for Oceaneering International. He primarily works in the Gulf of Mexico but he has also worked in Indonesia and Africa with this company. His normal rotation is 28 days gone and 14 home, but lately it has varied with shorter time gone and more time home. They are talking about setting his rotation back to 28/ 14 and the boat going to Norway.



We are in Louisiana as well.

My Husband works for BEEMAR llc. Before that was GULF MARK llc. Before that was HORNBECK Offshore, and before that SEAMAR llc. (btw all the companies were bought out by other comps. hence the switching comps) He has worked out of Louisiana for 13 years but he travels all over the world. He loves working in Israel. He has worked Saudi Arabia, Mexico and Trinidad/Tobago as well as the entire Gulf of Mexico.
