I am a 52 year old single Mother and Grandmother. I find myself getting frustrated lately with my day to day living, now becoming hour to hour living. I can wake up one day feeling like I can conquer the world, and the next day, rise to a body full of pain. Those who have never experienced the pain of Fibromyalgia cannot understand it. It is the type of pain that can take away the ability to move with ease and at times is mentally hard to cope with. In my heart and mind, I am young, healthy and motivated, but getting my body to cooperate is sometimes impossible. I believe that there is something good in EVERY DAY. With that attitude I will keep looking to tomorrow and hope for a cure for not only myself but for others suffering from this illness. My best to you !

I am 26 with 4 girls and I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia when I was 22. Ive had chronic pain pretty much my whole life but was diagnosed with it when I was 22 like I mentioned! Every day is different I do have to agree! One day I am ok, I can clean the whole house all day and block out my pain for the most part, and the next day I can barely walk across my living room or sit on the floor to play with my 4 year old after she gets home from school. I also have raynauds phenomenom along with it, and that mnakes things more difficult at times then not! I get tired of hurting all the time, I can only block out so much! DOnt let the fibro take you over though! Excercise is very importatn as Im sure you know! My husband always tells me...You will get through the day, push push push you will get to the end of the day! have hope!
My older girls help me as much as they can but when Im sitting and crying because Im hurting so bad they know its time to settle down for a little bit and rest! I hope the best for you! Im here if you ever just want to talk...

I have fibromyalgia also. It is post-traumatic. It began after I was in a car wreck. First it was limited to the arears that had been bruised or injured and thanit spread to other areas. My son who is seventeen had just turned fourteen at the time of the wreck. He is not called fibro yet because he does not have enough trigger points but he has the same pain symptons just not in as many areas. We both go to the pain management clinic at the cleveland clinic.

your words are so encouraging, i am a 19yr old mom of a 7 month old baby and i know exactly what you mean. I can wake up in the morning and feel like i can conquer the world and hours later i can barely walk across the or lift my daughter without feeling like im going to die. im very curious however, how old were you when you were diagnosed with cronic pain and how you have dealt with it and how it has affected taking care of your family. i look forward do your advice, my mom is also 52 with 2 daughters and 4 granddaughters and suffers from chronic pain so i would love some advice for her on life as well.
