The grant proposal for our group funding was approved. When the the health department staff sat down to look at the books and give us the green light to start spending on supplies, advertising, etc... they discovered that the $15,000 that had been set aside for this group has been STOLEN!
not spent on another program, or taken due to budget cuts, STOLEN... like pocketed by some still unknown person. An investigation has been launched and hopefully the person responsible for this will be brought to justice.
In the mean time, we are being told we can either "go ahead with what we've got" (supplies, donations, etc) or wait until July when there will be another budget meeting and we will get allotted, a probably much smaller amount of money.
If you have been reading my posts and suggestions, you can see that these are mostly spring/summer activities. I have plenty of ideas and a few resources that will allow us to move forward with "what we've got" and will continue to post them here.
If you have any Ideas, or supplies you'd like to donate please send me a personal message.
We CAN DO THIS, even with out the money, and it will make us stronger/closer as a group if everyone contributes a little bit in their own way :)
