That's why communities like this are so important, and why survivors MUST be the ones to begin campaigns to spread awareness.  That way, women and children suffering in these homes can feel that they are not alone.  They can draw strength from the support of women who have been there, bravely fought, and made it out.  They can know that it's not hopeless and that they DO have somewhere to go and people to turn to.  =]

I'll admit that I don't know anything about the statistics in Britain, but I'd be willing to bet that they're not far from the stats in the USA. Horrifying, isn't it?!
