Have people found their sex drive has diminished? I still enjoy sex, but where as I used to really want it and want to orgasm every time, now I can take it leave it, and just enjoy being with my husband, and don't always need to come.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Well,I have changed my mind about sex now from when I previously posted about it.My vagina is thinning and getting drier and I am getting more yeast infections,so I prefer not to have sex at all.I just want to be left alone.I have gained a ton of weight since the beginning of last year, and I don't know whether is has to do with menopause or what.My belly is shaped like a pregnant woman's belly,no rolls of fat, just round like I am carrying a child in my uterus. It is weird, but I don't know what to do about it,the doctors just told me to start counting calories??? Anyways,my husband doesn't seem to eager to have sex with me anyways because of it.

My lack of sex drive doesn't have to do with menopause, it has to do with the years of trying to get pregnant. After trying with each kid for years, the last one was 2 yrs, it was nice not to have to have sex all the time. I guess we just got used to not having it. Then while nursing my old episiotomy scar from my first child in 1999! hurt whenever we had sex. Thankfully once she weaned it got better. I do still need lots of lube like KY gel, it helps a lot, but before it didn't help at all.

I have lost my sex drive and do not know what to do. I get dry so it does hurt and also I get hot flashes around my head and neck. I am seeing my doctor today and I am getting to mention this too her. I like four play once in a while but the rest is get away from me lets just do foru play and sometimes that is annoying.

Well,I'm not fully into menopause yet, just having alot of symptoms, but still get the dreadful periods :(.Sometimes I feel like sex and have a high libido and then other times I don't want to be bothered.I was having a problem last year with orgasms because of my prescribed meds, and my doc.put me on Cryproheptadine, and I take it at night and I'm back in business ;).I literally flipped out last year when I didn't get an orgasm,I didn't even want to have sex anymore. But,my doc.was very helpful and understanding and placed me on that pill :).So,I love sex even more now!!

Hi Sarah,
I find that lately sex now hurts, where it never did before. I recently had surgery, so am not sure if there is a connection (even though surgery wasn't down there), or if it is because I am dry. This is bothering me and I plan on talking to my Dr. but wonder if anyone else is also going through this and what they do to help themselves.
