I was diagnosed with PPD in January. I had anxiety issues before that. But after my baby girl was born they got worse. I got meds and they helped. Only occasionaly relapses and it usually came when I got my period. Well this last one is horrible. I am not sure if it is because the holidays coming up, my Grandmother passing away, money issues or all of the above. I have added Xanax once a day when it is really bad but this is the worst it has been in awhile. I have a beautiful family, loving husband and I can't seem to work through it. Any suggestions or inspiration would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for listening or in this case reading.

you are really smart to note that your relapses happen around your period. I thought I had PPD months ago when I joined this group turns out I developed PMDD post pregnancy. PMDD is premenstrual dysphoric disorder... essentially you become post partum like or in my case I felt completey out of control between ovulation and my period.I seriously hated everyone, everything. It was horrible. I saw a psychiatrist to get assessed for PPD and came out with that diagnosis instead...I worked with my OB and by taking birth control without stopping (no placebo) not only do I not get my period no horrible hormones either. I was also on zoloft through the psychiatrist until the birth control kicked in. It was great because i did not have take it all the time. Now that I am treated I feel sooooooo much better and my husband does not fear me anymore. I hope this helps .... good luck
