I'm due in 4 weeks and can't wait to see our first son. I'm terrified of labor though. I've always imagined it to be painful but I'd do a lot better knowing exactly what I'll be going through, personally. Anyhoo, anyone else doing labor naturally and nervous?

I think that the best advise would be to expect the worst, and then once its done you will realize that it wasn't as bad as you thought it would be. When I had my daughter I was terrified but once it was over I quickly forgot about everything and was joyed to hold her in my arms finally. But I did end up with the epidural and I would never do it again without it, I thought that it was just great!

hi im pregnant with my 3rd child due 6th dec, with my son i had an epidural but with my daughter i decided to have no pain relief at all and i can honestly say my daughters birth was much better. the epidural hurt more as the needle was going in than the whole of my daughters birth did drug free. good look with the rest of your pregnancys and the labours x

I'm giving it another go naturally....am just scared i might need a caesarian this time round....i'll be devasted!!

Had my first son naturally with just gas and air and although its sinking in that i have to do it again i'm just trying to focus on how instantly the pain fades when your handed that bundle!

I'm not due til christmas day so still have ages...or so it seems.

Good luck to you

I have to admit when I had my son, I was terrified of what to expect as far as pain went. But, I personally found it best to go in completely ignorant of the whole pain thing! I did go in with the intention of having my son naturally, but after 10 hrs of labor my husband was begging me to take the epidural and I gratefully agreed! Best of luck to you, I'm sure you will do great.
