Where is the line between being a supportive mom and an annnoying mom?

I would really like to hear from elementary school teachers. But anyone who has experience with similar problems is welcome to chime in. I just want to scream right now! I was just informed via email my son has to complete a reading log by friday, it's wednesday. I was also informed he has 0 books in his reading log, (even though I know he has been doing the reading). I actually asked him last week about it after overhearing the teacher brag on one of the other students and her reading log. He said he was doing fine with it. His teacher says they are reminded every day about the log. He is very smart but has had lots of similar problems this year. The thing is though I'm a stay at home mom and try so hard to be informed and I try to make sure he does everything he is supposed to be doing. But I feel like if I am too involved and ask too many questions the teacher thinks I'm babying him and he needs more responsibility. I also always try so hard to be supportive and do what I can to make the teacher's job easier. I just always feel like I'm either being slack or overbearing. I also kinda feel like teachers look down on stay at home moms. Any insight on this, or just want to vent like me?

My daughter started kindergarten this year (a year ahead of schedule). I go talk to her teacher at least once a week. I even told her that if she feels like Im being "overbearing" to feel free to let me know. I told her that I just want to keep informed and that I am VERY active in my daughter's education. I know I probably shouldnt go in as much as I do but at least I am focused on my children's education. I wish more parents would be involved. If you have your child's teacher's email address, maybe you can e-mail if you feel like you are being to present?!?!
