Any Mom's In & Around Applewood?

Just wanted to comment and mention that not all "Play date" are like this, you will always have a mother in a group that tends to bring forth all of her child's great attributes....try not to take it literally :) Most people are not that obnoxious. some may just want to be helpful...I always tend to focus on the Positivity, rather that negative. remember most stay at home Moms crave the socialization aspect, perhaps this was an icebreaker to get the conversation going, in most cases this is what I experience. I have a son who is 4 he has a speech delay as well as global delays, I have not seen anyone treat him any different, even when he was a baby...I found other Mothers very supportive and encouraging.
besides not everyone is gonna click...its unfortunate, but this is where you can decipher who you may want to reconnect with. well cheers and have a super time!

Im with you Maxine!! I say we gather up our babies for a play date :) I live right in Marlborough, and my daughter is 7 months old now! I am afraid she is gonna start being stunted if I don't get her around some other babies for some socializing real soon lol :)

Just wanted to say you 2 definately sound like my type of moms.lol I tried doing the whole community play date but that didn't last long couldn't handle the other parents.

I totally know what you mean about the "fake nice" stuff! I felt like I had to do that all the time! I'm not the typical mother, most of my friends don't have kids, so we still go out late and pretend we're 18 again from time to time! :) Hannah's birthday party is on Saturday, and I always serve wine for the grown ups at her parties...this is actually the first time there will be kids at her party. I wasn't in to the whole entertaining thing when she was so little, but I'm gonna try it this weekend...I hope it goes well. I've hired a clown, so that should keep the kids busy. I live in Brentwood (close the the U of C in the North west). Do you have a car? We should get together sometime...we wouldn't have to "fake nice"!! :) LOL Cheers!

Thank you for the suggestion, the idea of a play group kinda scares me, but I keep getting encouraged. A lot of friends and family have said its a good way to get out of the house and meet people. I don't know if they are the right kinda people I wanna meet though, I think I would feel like I would have to be that kind of "fake nice". I live in Marlborough at 52nd street.
If you look in your community newsletter, or community website there are often play groups with moms in your area. I hated play groups, but that's because I had severe PPD...so I couldn't stand the other moms oogling their babies and shoving the lovey dovey crap down my throat. But hey, if you can hack it, all the power to ya! What area of the city do you live in?
