hi ladies, Im a Northern mom taking my kids to Edmonton for spring break. Can any frugal moms recommend any inexpensive activities to do with my 9 and 11 year old. Do you know of any great hidden secrets of edmonton thats not a tourist hangout?

When in the spring are you coming? Spring and early summer are jammed packed in Edmonton with no frills easy breezy things to do with the kiddies. There's fireworks you can watch on the north end of the city around... here are a few off the top of my head:
June/July: fireworks-- Klondike days ends off every day with fireworks around 11pm easiest viewing is 111ave and 82st (ish),
June/Jule: Street performers festival (in june)
June/July: Klondike days
sometime between June and August end is the fringe festival
I can narrow it down a little more but i'm going to need to know when your going to be in town for...Then I'll compile a list and see what I can come up with... Do you mind community events even? Have a pet? Seems to me the SPCA has a pet day in a park sometime in the spring as well
