I am not sure what to do. I am due January 20th and that's the same day my next semester starts. I've been told to stay home for the semester but I can't because it will set me back a whole year of school because of pre-pharmacy program circumstances. Has anyone had this issue and what did you do??

I am not in exactly the same situation with you but similar. I am pregnant and I am due in the middle-end of the semester. However I am taking online classes and two of them are just 8 week classes instead of 16 so I wil be half done by the time my baby gets here. I also emailed and explained my situation with my other two instructors and they are willing to work with me if some assignments are late. The problem I see with your situation is finding someone to watch the newborn while you are in class. And explain to your teachers you just had a baby and I am sure they will work with you. You could take the semester off but that is not your only option. Online classes I enjoy, you could try them again it might work out better this time. Another idea is to talk to an advisor at your school and explain your situation with them they might have another idea that will help you decide what to do. Good luck!!!!!!!

The first year is so special and you can never get it back they change so much from day to day in that first year you are almost affraid to blink. You can make up a year of school and the only set back is a little frustration knowing you could have been done a year earlier...if you miss that precious time with your child you will never forgive yourself...and lets face it once you have children a year and trying to go to school that year youll be making up will be over before you even realize it

I don't think I could handle a newborn and going to school.. the sleep deprivation would kill me. Plus, I would hate to miss those first weeks of baby's life. You can't get those back.

I've tried two online classes and have failed them in the past. Never going down that road again.

Never had this issue but (to me) it is fairly obvious what you should do, and that is to take the semester off. While it may be an inconvenience to you, it'll be a hell of a lot better for your newborn baby than handing him/her off to someone else while you go to school. That is a very special age, and you should use the time to bond with your child.
