Hi All,

My name is Lisset Kanzi. I am a wife and the mother of a 2 y.o. little boy. He is my sunshine :) I am also a FT student by day, currently attending H.A.C.C. and Penn State University in PA, simultaneously. I’m originally from Boston, but moved to PA for school. I am in the accelerated BSN program and am also taking classes toward a Social Work degree. I am halfway through in completing my pre-reqs. This semester I am taking six classes: Honors Philosophy of Religion, Algebra, Arabic 102, Pilates, Honors English 102, and Human Development Family Services.

I made a few bad decisions in high school, and I'm working extra hard to achieve my goals now in college. I have just been invited into an International Honor Society, Phi Theta Kapa, by the Dean of the college. So ladies, It Can Be Done!! We can be moms and go to school. We are in a way "SuperWomen." Although, all it really takes is a good support system and a great family bond. Eventually, I want to go back to school to get my BSW in social work and my MSN in nursing to become a Nurse Practitioner.

I am fortunate enough to have the support of my husband. I am able to go to school by day and be at home with my son afterward. My husband works 2nd shift, so he watches our son while I’m in school, then we switch when I come home. I Thank God for all of our blessings =-)

If you’d like to add me or have any questions, please let me know!

I look forward to reading everyone else's stories :)

I too am a full  time college student and mother.  Hi!  My name is Colleen Vander Woude.  I am the mother of 5 children, 19y/o-9y/o.  There is never a dull moment in my world.  I originally received my BA with a major in Sociology and minor in Social Work.  I am now, 22 years later getting my ADN.  I will be finished in May and simply can't wait (however, I know I'll continue on).  I

It is true that once you set your mind to doing something, it can be done.  If you are thinking of going back to school and have a family,  it will take action from each member of the family.  My children have learned to have a lot of patience, my husband has learned that he's not "smarter than a 5th grader", and I've learned that my family really must love me tremendously (since they put up with my stressed out attitude most of the time).

Begin the process by being organized.  My biggest challenge was the scheduling of the children's things.  One needed to be one place, two needed to be somewhere else.  I have calendars everywhere in my house so no one can claim they didn't know.  It does help that I have 2 teenagers that can both drive.

Keep your motivation up.  You can do it!!!!!
