I am working part time and going to nursing school full time and I constantly hear from my four year old son that he misses me. What are some non expensive things I can do to spend some time with him and show him how special he is.

Go to the library. Look in the paper for community events that are free. Bake some cookies and watch a movie. take him to the park and have a picnic. Have a picnic in the livingroom. Make a tenet in the living room like your camping out. read stories with a flashlight, melt marshmellows over the grill. have a scavenger hunt. ask him to name things he wants to do with mommy, put them in a jar and have him pick out one thing each week that you guys can do. That can be mommy and me time.

go to the park and play games, get a happy meal, go to church on sun, watch a movie in bed together with junk food and soda, build a tent in living room out of blankets and camp, cook dinner together, bake something, paint pictures, those are just a few :)

I take my son to McDonald's play place or the park. Or we just sit at home & play video games or watch TV together every moment we have. I'm lacking a social life at this point, but I constantly remind my son I would rather be w/ him & am doing this to better our situation.

I work full-time and go to school full-time. As hard as it is at time I have to first let my kiddos know why and how important it is, even at 4 and 8. Also, there are lots of inexpensive things you guys could do together. With the holidays coming up on us you guys could definitely bake some cookies together or do a craft of some sort. Rent a cute kids movie and curl up on the couch together with some popcorn. Just don't ever give up!!! Good Luck!!

Hi!! Some easy and cheap ideas are: a Natural History museum(aka Dinosuar Museum), the park, rent a children's movie snuggle up with popcorn, bike rides, play catch, take a walk, play with his favorite toys(it is amazing how refreshed your brain gets with 30 minutes of Hotwheels or Barbies), make ice cream treats together, bake cupcakes, read a book in his bed, let him snuggle up in your bed to go sleepy while you study. My son loved this when I took biology, I had to kick HIM out of bed so I could concentrate :). DON'T GIVE UP!!!! YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!

It's hard since it's getting cold now but my kids love to go to the park and feed the ducks, go on a picnic, walk, or to the local high school and run around on the football and baseball fields. I'm not sure where your from but if you go to kidsbowlfree.com you can sign up for two free games of bowling a day for your son. Hope this helps ! I know how hard it is going to school with kids.

Quoting Katrina:

working mom in school needs advise.

Me and my 4yr old go to the library. Sometimes they have different things/activities going on and there free! She likes for me to read the books we rent to her at night before bedtime.
