My 8 year old son was diagnosed with ADD in 2006, and we have put him on the meds for school. However at home we have found that his attitude has become increasingly worse. Does anyone have any ideas on how i can help him..... he is a beautiful and very careing child, and extremely sensitive.

WOW! Reading your post was like reading one of my own! My daughter is the same way. She 10 and was diagnosed in 2004. She currently takes Focalin XR before school and Clonidine before bed, this is a low dose sleeping aid. She has much trouble sleeping... Haley is a very caring, loving and emotional child as well... We are in behavioral therapy and this seems to help. Maybe you could try that as well? Her attitude has changed a bit at home... It's gonna take time but they will come around. It's up to us to get the "right" treatment for our children and LOTS of understanding positive support from us as parents. Haley still has a bad attitude at home but with each step is getting better as the weeks go by. I hope this helps a bit and I wish you the best!
