My daughter is 10 yo. She has been tested for Autism spectrum disorder, and they have ruled it out. She has Cerebral Palsy, was diagnosed at about 6 mos, before I adopted her at 1 yo. She is a beautiful, loving girl. She has cognitive issues, and gets help in school. There are issues though that no one has been able to help with. Someone suggested that if it's not Autism maybe it could be ADHD. I have two sons with ADHD and just never considered it in her. She rocked and banged her head for years to sleep or when she was bored. She has many repetitive habits. She's normally very quiet (still gestures sometimes), but can scream like a banshee when she "short circuits". There are certain things that set her off, like noises. She has suffered from horrible migraines as well, and no medical explanation for them. She is very unfocused and homework time is excrutiating for us. She has the attention span of a gnat, except for a few things. Has anyone else had an experience like this? Could it be ADHD? I have a Dr. appt coming up for her, and I wanted to be able to discuss this a little more informed.
