My son has been on a Gluten-and Casein-free diet for two months. I have seen some improvement. Has anyone else gone this route?

We have had some success with getting rid of all artifical stuff (flavors, colors) and giving Omega 3 supplements.

I found this info researching it myself we are kind of going that route but not quite that extreme. I have found eliminating all non-organic foods and limiting the amount of dairy along with supplementing certain vitamins after taking my son off his meds has helped him dramatically!

A gluten-free casein-free diet (or GFCF diet) eliminates intake of the naturally-occurring proteins gluten (found naturally in wheat, barley, spelt, triticale, kamut, rye and possibly oats) and casein (found in milk). The Autism Research Institute and other advocacy groups recommend the diet as a treatment for autism and related disorders. Studies supporting these claims have had significant flaws, and the data are inadequate to guide treatment recommendations.[1][2] Moreover, studies have found that such diets can lead to nutrient deficiencies that weaken bone structure, increasing the risk of broken bones.[3]

I tried this for a year with my son when he was 9 and it helped some but was not the complete answer to his symptoms. I did find that with all the chemicals in our homes that this seem to be a trigger I converted my home totally green and my sons symptoms completley disapeared. He is completley off his meds and not on a casin/glutin free diet any longer. You can not use the products in the stores because they are only green because of how they are produced not what is in them. Pesticides are in every chemical that is antibacterial. We tyr to buy organic and then we clean our homes and wash our bodies with pesticides. Wheres the problem here. This country does not regulate what the companies can put into the products that we buy. They just cna not label them as a pesticide or fermalidihde that is is all of our products as a presertivite. I got rid of all of this in my home and my family has changed. You can only buy these online but they are so worth it.
