Is it normal for my child to get sick from Strattera?

My ex husband had my daughter diagnosed with ADHD when she was 6 years old and since this time she has been on medicine for it. She used to take Adderall and this past year he had it changed to Straterra. She informed me that for the past 3 years she has been getting sick to her stomach and actually throwing up from her medicine. She stated that she would eat her breakfast and feel full, her father would give her medicine and she would throw it up on the bus. She said that she gets sick many times after she eats lunch as well. My daughter only weighs 52 pounds and is 11 years old now, soon to turn 12. I currently dont live in the same state as her so it is hard for me to monitor her during the school year since her father refuses to inform me of when she gets sick, has a doctors appointment, school related issues, etc. Is this a typical side effect of Strattera for getting sick to the stomach and throwing up?

@ Patricia Thank you. I have taken her to the pediatrican here and he has tested her levels to make sure she is healthy. Her levels are good but she didn't weigh what he felt was a normal weight for her age and height. I have placed 10 pounds on her this summer with her being off her medication and she looks alot more healthy. Sad thing is she returns back to her father in a few weeks and he will place her back on her medication again and probaly lose weight again.

I honestly don't know why the doctor changed her from Adderall. Her father doesn't tell me even who her doctor is. I live in another state so it is harder for me to get information, more so since her father won't let me know or says he will get back to me with the information and never does. This is reacurring since he always says this.

My child tried Straterra some years ago and always felt some nausea and stomaches after taking the pills. We only tried it for 2 weeks and went back to the doctor and changes to Adderall. We have not had any issues with Adderall in the past 3 years since he is taking it. My doctor had said that gastrointestinal issues were a side effect of Straterra. So if you child cannot tolerate it, she should be seen again by a doctor and have her meds changed. Do you know why they changed it in the first place? I hope this helps.
