The Dr. started my daughter on 15 mg of adderall xr her first dose was yesterday and it seemed to help some. She tooke her second dose today and it does not seem to have helped at all. Does this mean it wont work or do I need to take her back to the Dr. ?

The meds do time to get in their system. It could also work for weeks 1 and 2 and then it's like their on nothing. It's their body getting used to the meds and letting you know if they need to be increased. It can be hard in the beginning to find the right med with the right dose, but when you do the struggle you went through to get there will be all worth it. With my son it took 3 different meds with different doses, but with my daughter we got it right on the first try. Hang in there, good luck to you and your daughter.

My daughter just started Addrerall today. I'm praying that it helps! We tried the Intuniv and it didn't help us. It just made her more grumpy during the day.

You should wait a week to see if it's working. That's a fairly low dose, too, so it could be that you'll end up "upping it" or adding something like Intuniv to it. Good luck! I know how hard this is!
