My son (14 yrs) was dxed with ADHD in kindergarten. In 3rd grade, Bipolar Disorder was added, and the a couple of years ago Asperger's Syndrome was added to that. AS is his primary dx. Anyone here with "extra stuff" going on, or is this just ADD/ADHD?? I don't want to scare anyone with some of his behaviors.

Thanks - Jo Ann

I have a13 year old son that has ADHD and ODD and has been identifed as being on the very high end of the Autism scale (autism then Asperger's then my son kind of a thing).  We're on Concerta and Tennex (a blood pressure med).  The Tennex helps with the flightiness and in general calms him down, yet he is not a zombie.

So, yep, we're in the same boat as you.  :)

Our son, who is nine, has been diagnosed with PDD-NOS (upgraded from his original Apserger's diagnosis), biopolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder as well as multiple learning disabilities.  So, we sure have a bunch of those "extras!"

My daughter is bipolar, ADHD, ODD. She is now 13. We have been working with her with psychiatrists, etc. since she was four. May I ask why they think your son also has Asperger's? What symptoms do they attribute to that rather than the bipolar/ADHD? If you would prefer to contact me directly through FB (Cheryl Blood) or e-mail (Cheryl12661@Comcast.net) that would be fine. Perhaps we can give each other some advice.

Hey there! My son was dxed in kindergarten with ADHD/ODD and a mood disorder. We have been trying different meds over the last few years to try and get him under control but we have just been hitting dead ends. He is in 4th grade now and I am really concerned that he made actually be bi-polar. We have an appt next week and I plan on discussing this with his Dr. The things he does and says adn just his behavior in general really seems to fall under the bi-polar dx. My sister was actually dxed with it about a month ago, and the 2 of them have many of the same characteristics. What type of behavior problems are you having with your son?
