Ostracized daughter

Tonight I watched my beautiful 17 year old go to prom. She has adhd and not many friends. There was no date to pick her up or a group of girl friends to go with. Her daddy bought her flowers and drove her...thank you God for him! She was invited to go to pictures with some others (our son's girlfriend made this happen), so that was nice, but I just had to choke back tears as she was the only single in the pics with 12 couples. Don't get me wrong, I do NOT feel she needs a date or boyfriend, but it just brings up so much pain from years of watching her be ostracized. No birthday parties, no sleep overs, no one to eat lunch with at school. (I am a teacher at her grade school & watched painfully as this happened.) To add to it, she is also odd, so other than paying for the night, I really didn't get to enjoy the mother-daughter aspect of her special night. Our relationship is really strained most of the time. I actually look forward to the time when she has graduated and out of our house. How horrible is that of me! We walk on eggshells so much of the time with her.
Just needed to vent. Thanks.

OMG! that is one of my son's biggest issues, no one likes me at school. Well stop saying crazy crap and they might be your friend. I can't be comfortable with someone who says things about killing and chopping classmates hands off can you?

i TOTALLY UNDERSTAND. You are not alone believe me, I have a soon to be 9 yr old son thats on 4 meds right now, we tried to reduce them and during that time the cops got called and I got a CPS case for medical neglect. He showed out at school so dr had to put him back on two of his meds. I don't know if some days i'm thinking right or not either. Day by day ya know?

I can see this happening already with my 5 year old son. we're a blended family and there's already a lot of friction in the car about who "has" to sit next to him and while he has a lot of friends there are a lot of days he comes home crying from school because someone else "hates" him today. I fear it will only get worse and my heart breaks for you and your daughter.

I don't have any wise words of wisdom for you, but know I will pray for you and your family.

God bless you.
