There is a great book out called " Taking Charge of ADHD"
By Barkley. It's a great help.

I am struggling with my husband thinking he needs to deal with each thing our son does and his way of dealing with it is to scream louder and louder than my son and to physically overpower the situation but not hitting or striking more of an intimidation tactic I try telling him that it is only escalating the situation and riling up our son instead of calming him. My husband then criticizes me for not doing anything. I believe in picking my battles and I try to use a softer voice to bring the volume and anger down a notch or two. This is a real problem and despite getting professional help for hubby, he still is insisting his way is right. Our older son wants nothing to do with his dad and can't stand how overbearing he is. Hubby stills thinks he is right. We are meeting with a new family services group tomorrow and will be planning to have both of us attend a positive parenting class. I am still trying to get hubby to try different strategies but I don't hold much faith that anything will change. I find it very disheartening but I understand my sons problems more because of how hubby carries on.

That's absolutely true! Sometimes I wouldn't even know what to do anymore and worst I have to face this all by myself...I really need some strategies as well...
